Legendary Soiree in The City of Cowboys & Culture

The Fort Worth Convention and Visitors Bureau and many of the areas finest event companies came together to throw a LEGENDARY Block Party this past weekend in the Fort Worth Water Gardens. This event featuring the brilliant AirStar Dome, was the party of the century, and just one of many fabulous soirees celebrating Fort Worth and the new Omni Hotel.
The block party, was a true labour of love for the city of Cowboys and Culture and featured a brain trust of talented event companies from Fort Worth (and Dallas) including PeaPod Productions and the Chic Geek, Eclipse Entertainment, AirStar America, PRA, Shag Carpet, Lite Dallas, LiveWire Special Events, Trinity Food & Beverage, Freeman, J&S Audio Visual
who worked together in perfect harmony with the Fort Worth Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Omni Hotel Fort Worth, & the Fort Worth Convention Center to create one of the most amazing weekends that Fort Worth has ever seen.
The festivities were centered around the Grand Opening of the Omni Fort Worth, which had a soft open in January of this year AND the branding of Fort Worth as the City of Cowboys and Culture.
The thought was to team the events together to create an entire weekend of Special Events, Tours and Parties
that showcased the new Omni hotel, Fort Worth, and an amazing array of event professionals for over 400 meeting, convention & event planners from around the world.
Some of the creme de la creme restaurants in Fort Worth were featured at the block party, with creative and yummy specialties including immaculate Chorizo Tacos from my new favorite restaurant Grace
to delectable Braised Short Ribs and Grits from Mercury Chop House...
to to fall off the bone Ribs from world famous "Iron Chef" competitor and Fort Worth's own celebrity chef Tim Love of Lonesome Dove Bistro
The cuisine was spectacular and the vendors gracious with the background and color on each new dish.
I am trying hard not to be giddy, but I am incredibly humbled to say that not only were all of the events a huge success - they were Legendary! Mayor Mike Moncrief was very gracious in his praise for the events and has been raving to all that Fort Worth is the place to be.

And Yet Another little Valentine addition from the Chic Geek.
Are you a fan of Twitter?
Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentine's Day! I am so happy today. It really has turned out to be one terrific Valentine's Day. Today the Chic Geek was part of the Urban Blossom Love Patrol! It was my honor to deliver happiness on behalf of good friends Shana Thomas and Marcella Mouskondis Vantarakis of the Urban Blossom Floral Boutique. For those in the know, the Urban Blossom is one of the most amazing boutiques specializing in amazing florals, Art and other fun stuff. I get lost in their store and even more spellbound by their arrangements.

Holly GoLightly Says Tiffany Is Her Color

This spring is going to scream Tiffany Blue. Several brides I am working with have told me they want to go with variations of this this classic color. I wanted to post this inspiration board for an upcoming wedding, as our first hot trend color of the season!
From the Top left corner going around clockwise: Who doesn't want a Tiffany box, as these Wedding Favor boxes steal the show PLUS they double as menu cards; Cupcakes and Cupcake lollipops (see 2nd box down to the left) are festive, versatile and easy for everyone to enjoy; A Personalized Isle Runner with a beautiful Tiffany Blue Monogram; Tiffany Boxes are a sweet fantasy item, that could hold any number of surprises ; A girl needs a blue Tiffany Brooch to make her day complete.
Next, Bridesmaid dresses that make even the prettiest day seem dull; The cool thing about Event Lighting is that it can change the drama of a room and really make an event pop; Clean, sleek tables with a hint of blue with Chinese lanterns for drama; You will always have something blue with OPI's Something Blue Nail Color ; Color Charts to spark that creative flair; The Perfect Cake Topper can amuse the crowd and encourage conversation (plus you KNOW it will end up on Facebook); and our beautiful bride is dressed in an beautiful Alfred Angelo creation with just a hint of color from their Dream in Color collection.
BTW - this inspiration board was created using Mosaic Maker and uploaded thru my flickr account. I was able to then Facebook, Twitter and Blog from the flickr site. AMAZING technology for the Chic Geekess.
